David Brink

General Manager - Operations

David Brink joined Alligator Energy as General Manager – Operations in August 2025, bringing more than 30 years of international leadership across the upstream oil and gas sector. He now leverages his deep expertise in safety, technical operations, and asset management to advance Alligator’s portfolio, including the Samphire Field Recovery Trial and broader exploration initiatives.

David holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (First Class Honours) from the University of South Australia and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia (now FINSIA).

Throughout his career, David has overseen the full upstream asset lifecycle, with project experience spanning Australia, Denmark, Qatar, the Gulf of Mexico, Brazil, Angola, and the United Kingdom. He began with Esso Australia in Melbourne on the Bass Strait fields, before moving to Santos in Brisbane to support Queensland and Northern Territory operations. In 2002, David joined Maersk Oil and Gas in Copenhagen, where he progressed through senior international roles in Doha, Houston, and Aberdeen. Most recently, he returned to Adelaide to lead Drilling and Completion operations across Beach Energy’s onshore and offshore assets.

In recognition of his significant industry contributions, David was awarded the Society of Petroleum Engineers Regional Service Award – South Asia and Pacific Division in 2023.

With a strong commitment to safe, efficient, and responsible operations, David is passionate about delivering energy that is sustainable, accessible, and aligned with the needs of future generations.
