Andrea Marsland-Smith was appointed CEO of Alligator Energy following a successful tenure as Chief Operating Officer, where she led the formation of a highly capable team with deep experience in in-situ recovery (ISR) uranium operations. Under her operational leadership, Alligator positioned itself to advance the Samphire Uranium Project near Whyalla into its next critical phase of development.

Andrea brings over two decades of industry experience, primarily in the uranium sector. Prior to joining Alligator Energy, she was a key member the Executive Management Team at Heathgate Resources, operator of the Beverley and Beverley North ISR uranium projects, and Four Mile project in South Australia. Over her 15 years at Heathgate, Andrea held a broad spectrum of senior roles including Head of Geology, Head of Regulatory & Compliance, Head of Operations, and Head of Government Relations and Indigenous Affairs.

Her career also includes exploration and technical roles with Uranium Equities in the Alligator Rivers Uranium Province, as well as work with Areva and Sinosteel Uranium SA. A PhD-qualified Economic Geologist, Andrea’s contributions to the sector have been widely recognised. She was part of the team awarded AMEC’s Explorer of the Year in 2008 for the discovery of Four Mile, named one of the 2015 Top 100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining, and received the Exceptional Women in Resources Award in 2016.

Andrea is committed to responsible, community focused resource development and is proud to lead Alligator Energy as it strives to become Australia’s next ISR uranium producer.
